Privacy policy

Effective 10 September 2026. This policy covers the CardBatch Scan iPhone app and this support website.

On-device processing

The app detects cards, reads text and supported contact codes, and prepares contact fields on your iPhone. We do not operate a cloud OCR service or receive your card images or recognized contact data. No app account, advertising or third-party analytics SDK is required.

Permissions and exports you choose

Camera access is requested for capture. Photo import uses Apple's photo picker. Contacts access is requested when you choose Contacts. Saving to Contacts, Files, sharing a vCard or exporting CSV sends the selected information to your chosen destination. Those services, including iCloud or other account providers, may sync or process it under their own settings and policies.

Local storage, retention and backups

Unfinished scans are retained for seven days by default. Saved text in the optional local Library stays until you delete it. Successful export deletes card images by default; changing image-retention settings can retain images and a Library thumbnail. You can delete entries or use Settings to delete all local scan data.

Deletion does not remove previously exported contacts or files, or reset the free-allowance counter and purchase status. The app does not implement cloud sync. Some app records and settings may be included in system/device backups, depending on your settings. Private image storage is excluded from backup; this does not mean that every app record is excluded.

Purchases

Apple processes the one-time Pro purchase and restoration through StoreKit. The app receives verified entitlement information and stores a local purchase-status cache and allowance counter. We do not receive your card payment details. Apple's services may require a network connection and are governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Support and this website

If you email support, we receive the information you voluntarily provide and use it to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid including private cards or contact data. We retain correspondence only as needed for support and applicable obligations. You may request deletion of support correspondence.

This static website has no analytics scripts, tracking pixels or advertising cookies. Cactalyst’s website is hosted by Vercel, and the app’s linked support pages are also available on GitHub Pages. These hosting providers may process technical request data such as IP addresses for operation and security under their Vercel and GitHub privacy policies. External websites and Apple services have their own privacy policies.

Your choices and contact

You can change app permissions in iOS Settings, manage retention, delete local data, and choose whether and where to export. We will update this page if our practices change. For privacy questions or requests:
